Métis Summer Rendezvous is a one of a kind Métis Family Event in the Thompson Okanagan

NO ALCOHOL EVENT ∞ FRIDAY JULY 11TH – 13TH, 2014 ∞

Gates open to Public Saturday, 8 AM

Schedule of Events

Friday Evening
Event and campers set-up.

Saturday
8:00am to 9:30am ∞ Pancake Breakfast
9:30 to 10 am ∞ Welcome and opening remarks.
10 am to Noon ∞ Upcycling Métis Style (pre-register)
10:30 to 11:30 am ∞ Spirit Pouch Workshop (pre-register)
10am to 5 pm ∞ Wild TV’s Trigger Effect will be on site all weekend airing their Season 2, TV episodes, demonstrating the bow-drill, as a survival technique for fire building.
10am to 5 pm ∞ Métis Multi-media Terry Jackson , ( Rock Creek BC) will be onsite with his artisan wares, ranging from Jewelry, porcelain items, t-shirts and more. Terry will also be demonstrating the art of carving.
10 am to 5 pm ∞ Métis Traditional Games Centre, ∞ Archery, sling-shot & Tomahawk throw.
10am to 5 pm ∞ Museum and Photo booth
10 am to 5 pm ∞ Children’s Activity Centre

Note All Activities will be closed for lunch and a break for hosts from 12:30 to 1:30

11 am to 4 pm ∞ Métis Snack Shack OPEN
11 am to 4 pm ∞ Apple Bobbing
11:30 to 3pm Bannock or until supplies last

*All Day Music from the S.O.B. Band

1:30 to 2 pm Spirit pouch follow-up session
1:30 to 3 pm ∞ Traditional Drumming workshop Hosted by Métis Community Service BC (Kelowna)
3pm to 4pm ∞ Team Infinity Jiggers of Merritt BC, Perform
4 to 5 pm ∞ Upcycling Métis Style follow-up session
4 to 5 :30pm ∞ Jigging workshop with Lii Michif Otipemiswak of Kamloops

5:30 Gates Close for Potluck dinner and evening campfire.

Sunday
8:00am to 9:30am ∞ Pancake Breakfast
9am to 1 pm ∞ Wild TV’s Trigger Effect
9:30 am – 10 am ∞Métis Knowledge keeper speaks on Métis Traditional Sporting Games
10:00-Noon ∞ Sports day Métis Style
Noon to 1 pm ∞ Prizes , Awards, and closing remarks.
2pm ∞ break camp, Clean-up, and head home.
