1 lb. ground meat (buffalo, elk etc)
1 cup or 1 large onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 cup green pepper chopped
16 oz. tomato sauce
2 tsp cocoa powder
2 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano, crushed
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp allspice
2 large tomatoes diced
2-3 tbsp chili powder
15 oz. pre-cooked pinto beans
15 oz. pre-cooked white or black beans
1 cup water
7 oz. diced green chili can or 1 fresh chili pepper
Simmer on stove top, (I do it for 3/4 to 1 hour):
I serve it lunch or dinner on a toasted bun, any type you like with the following:
shredded cheese, chopped green onions, sliced black olives, sour cream, along with tortilla chips.
