Good news from Elections Canada

Great news from Elections Canada. They have confirmed that the MNBC Citizenship Card and other Métis issued cards will be accepted for identification purposes at the polls this October when the election is held. It was not on the originally approved list of accepted identification, and we raised the issue directly with Elections Canada. We understand that Métis Nation Ontario had also raised the same concern. The request was considered by senior officials of Elections Canada, and they have now approved the use of Métis cards – this would include cards issued by a Métis Community. MNBC can take particular pride in knowing that it is our MNBC Citizenship card that is being circulated to all Elections Canada field offices as an example.
